Wood floor finishes
Varnish application refers to a process of protecting your newly sanded floor from wear, dirt and moisture. Once the wood surface is prepared, it is important to apply the right finish and the right number of coats, often sanding between coats.
For light traffic (bedrooms) - 2 coats of varnish
For medium traffic (living and dining areas) - 3 coats of varnish
For heavy traffic (kitchen and hallway) - 4 coats of varnish
Flooring Oil gives a natural look to the floor and keeps the real feel and texture of the wood. It can be repaired if it scratched. It penetrates and seeps into the grain of the wood, which means there is no surface film or layer to flake, peel or crack. Oils can be applied to either old or new wooden floors.
2 or 3 coats of floor oil to be applied.
